"I'm gonna have galleries in Athens before I go off to graduate school." Words spoke by me right after graduation. Standing tall after my "Transmission" sculptures were displayed at Lamar Dodd. Little did I know a year of time would go by and there would be a lot of mental bumps in the road. I always dealt with negative thoughts and depression over the years but I hit a major wall around November, 2017. I wanted to give up. To hide from all the projects I had coming up around the corner at the start of 2018. I was feeling drained from my day job and doubtful of my pursuits. A boy of visions and positive energies brought down to the ground on his knees. I wouldn't tell the world though. I just hid and let my mind beat me up.
Fast forward through a residence at ATHICA, a two month show at AMICI Athens with live art events, and now a gallery at the Athens-Clarke County Library. You could say I've conquered parts of the chaos in my mind and I'm moving forward with a revitalized hope and direction.
