Art by Gunnar wasn’t built in a boardroom.

It came out of real life — years of service, the hard shift back into civilian life, and the need to put something honest on canvas when words didn’t always cut it.

 

After 26 years in the Army, I found my way back through art. What started as a personal outlet turned into something bigger: a body of work built from memory, pressure, movement, grit, and whatever truth needed to come out that day.

 

My work doesn’t stay in one lane, because life doesn’t. Some pieces hit like a storm. Some feel like silence. Some come out of steel, smoke, loss, memory, faith, or straight-up tension that needed somewhere to go. The same goes for the music. It all belongs to the same story.

 

Art by Gunnar is about honest work — paint, sound, story, and the things that stay with a man. No polish for the sake of polish. No fake edge. Just real pieces made from a real life.
